Lazaro Duremdes

Lazaro was a medical intake nurse in Huntington Beach, CA.

“He proposed to me at my father’s grave site in Riverside National Cemetery so my dad could ‘give us permission.’ He had a very sweet personality and a good sense of humor.”

At 19, Lazaro moved to California from Okinawa, Japan to work in the computer industry, where he would later meet his wife of 32 years. As a driver and intake clerk for a rehab hospital, he would pick up patients at the airport and help them settle in. As he passed, his family prayed with him and played his favorite song - Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven. He leaves behind his wife and two children. He was 64.
